I am trying to install iAtkos 1.0 R2 (Kalyway 10.5.1 doesn't boot at all) from the bootable disc, but it just loads darwin straight away with no option to press F8 (so i can't put in -v or anything else) and it just loads the apple screen with the spinning ring forever, this disc has been used before to install OSx86 on other machines so what could be wrong. The only time I've had something like this happen (and it happened on multiple occasions), was after an install was attempted to the hard drive, and the hard-drive portion of the setup wasn't complete. If this is what's happening, the CD might be checking for a flag on the hard drive, finding it, and then passing off the boot to the hard drive to try and complete setup... which obviously doesn't happen. Try unplugging the hard drive and start up from the CD and see if the countdown/F8 option comes up. If it does, then chances are it was trying to boot from the hard drive, in which case you can either try temporarily removing the hard drive as a boot option in the bios (may or may not work), or wipe/format the hard drive with something other than the OSX cd (use a Windows install disk or something), and then try the OS X cd again.

Good luck.
