aquastrike
I am installing 10.5.1 Kalyway onto the following machine: Gigabyte P35-DS3L 1024 MB DDR2-667 Core 2 Duo E6550 nVidia GeForce 8600 GTS 160GB Hitachi IDE HDD IDE DVD Burner The installation process goes smooth, right until it reboots near the end. After the machine gets past the darwin bootloader screen, it hangs on the Apple logo. Any help is greatly appreciated. [edit] I almost forgot; my settings during install are as follows: Vanilla kernel + ACPI fix NVinject HDA (DS3) Audio drivers
Irate82
Does the screen go blue and can you move the cursor?
lithium06
during boot mash the F8 key to type in options for the darwin boot loader. type in '-v' with out the quotes. This will print a verbose output of what it'd doing during boot and hanging on. Troubleshoot from there.
aquastrike
I will do that; but I found out that it might be a conflict between the jmicron IDE controller and OS X. I am forced to use an IDE HDD as my roomate dropped my 250GB SATA one. (sigh) I need the machine for some photoshop work, so i'll get back to this soon.
