MistaHardkill Posted March 19, 2008 Share Posted March 19, 2008 My Specs, first of all: CPU: AMD Athlon 64 x2 5600+ RAM: 4GB DDR2 667mhz Mobo: MSI K9A Platinum Video: ATI Radeon HD2900XT 512mb (|Genuine ATI|) Sound: Onboard Realtek I just need to know a couple of things. 1. I know there are AMD releases. I just got the Rev. 2 of Zeph's release from "The Bay" (10.5.2). Burned it. Booted from it with -v and -x (ati card). I loads for a bit than repeadedly gives a "still waiting for root device" error. I have since gotten 2 other releases from different "Bay style" websites, including Kalway (sp?). Same thing:/ Any solution? 2. I read about this PC EFI thing. I am just going to assume that its an intel cpu only thing and I don't need to worry about that? darkstormcr Posted March 19, 2008 Share Posted March 19, 2008 I don't know about the PC-EFI thing, I haven't been doing this long enough. but the still waiting for root device means your optical drive brand is probably not supported (when I installed (intel version), it didn't like LG, sony, or ASUS drives...it only liked Toshiba) or needs a different interface. i.e. if you are using a SATA DVD drive, switch to a PATA one if you have it. =D Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
