culexor
Hey, I recently downloaded the kalyway leopard iso. I burned it to a dvd and booted it up. I boot it in -v -x mode. All the text scrolls for about 3 minutes. Then it stops at some firewire security error or something and hangs there. Then it says still waiting for root device every 3 minutes or so. What's wrong? What do I need to do to fix this? I tried Leo4All too, and I got the same problem. ps-is my having an AMD have anything to do with it. Ive been told that kalyway and leo4all are amd compatible but they hang at the root device thing. My PC Specs: AMD Athlon X2 6000+ Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe 2GB G.Skill DDR2 800 (PC 6400) nVidia GeForce 8800GTS 512MB 1x 160GB SATA 7200RPM 1x 80GB SATA 7200RPM (almost full) 1x 40GB IDE (7200RPM?) from my old computer, I can wipe it if need be but I'd rather not. sup3rst4r
i had this error - i got around it by using a usb dvd drive as there is some problems using combinations of sata/sata or sata/ide drives i believe, not exactly sure why.... but that helped me. now im having problems getting installer to detect my hdd's Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/94229-need-help-still-waiting-for-root-device/#findComment-671672 Share on other sites

And I found that it is due to using SATA HDD with IDE DVD Drive..
