scrupul0us
Just installed iATKOS 1.0ir2 using these choices at the menu: iATKOS v1.0i Main Bootloader > x86 darwin Patches > NONE Drivers > VGA > Intel Drivers > System > NONE Drivers > Network > Intel My system specs are: Dell GX270 LAN: Intel 82540EM Gigabit MOUSE: MS Wheel Optical SOUND: INTEL AC97 VIDEO: INTEL 82865G Integrated CPU: INTEL P4 2.8 GHZ RAM: 1 GB I made it all the way through the "installation portion" where you wait 20 minutes or w/e for the files to be installed... I get to the dark grey screen with the circular wait throbber and then the system just rebooted Any help would be greatly appreciated... thanks EDIT: i should add that once the computer reboots, it just holds at a black screen if i leave the DVD in and let it go, i get for a brief second the apple logo on the gray screen and then it reboots Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/94143-iatkos-10ir2-reboots-following-install/ Share on other sites
scrupul0us
follow up: well still no luck... if i boot with -v i get a bunch of ACPI Extension "warnings" about only using one style i have tried both the regular x86 bootloader and the EFI bootloader so far either way after the install and reboot i just get a black screen or quick flashing apple logo on gray background followed by reboot Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/94143-iatkos-10ir2-reboots-following-install/#findComment-670998 Share on other sites

Peppie
Don't install any other packages except for the EFI darwin bootloader (not the stock kernel or ACPIplatform.kext, just the bootloader), if you can't run EFI, then just install x86 bootloader. The Aries
I am new to OSX (iAtkos 4.1i) environment dared to install it on my dell GX270. Initially i had the same issue of computer reboot after completing the installation. Than after a workaround & with the help of youtube videos I understand the following: while installing you need to 'Customize'. There you need to select Darwin for MBR. Also drivers for VGA, SMB, ACPI drivers. I was confused about IDE/SATA driver as only SATA drivers were listed, so I selected all of them. See the attachment. Edit: Dell GX270 LAN: Intel 82540EM Gigabit MOUSE: Acer Wheel Optical SOUND: INTEL AC97 VIDEO: INTEL 82865G Integrated CPU: INTEL P4 2.8 GHZ RAM: 1 GB HD: 40gb WD ATA Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/94143-iatkos-10ir2-reboots-following-install/#findComment-972449 Share on other sites
