Hi Socal, I've been trying your procedure to install Leopard on my homebuilt x86. My MB is Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3P and I started with a brand new copy of the Leopard install DVD (purchased today 03/16/08) which I ran the BrazilMac-9a581-Patch procedure on. All seem to go well with the BrazilMac patch procedure. Everything was going well with you procedure too until I got to this part of the main install guide:

.

.

click install ((starts checking install DVD at 5:27, install begins at 5:31, install succeeds at 5:40 [it guessed 12 minutes])

The first time I did this the install verification failed (it did not give much detailed info though).

I rebooted into the install DVD again and this time I clicked 'skip' on the verification step. The install started this time and ran for a about 4-5 minutes and then failed agian. This time it reported that: The installer could not validate the contents of 'Essentials' package.

Do you think I sunk because I have a very recent retail Leopard DVD? Is it possible that there is a new BrazilMac patch? I thought I saw something about a BrazilMac-9a582 out there somewhere....

Thanks for any help you can give me.

-Barry
