sunlite
hi, i have a dell xps 1530 notebook with the following devices: - intel core 2 duo processor (t7250 (2 ghz mb l2-cache, 800 mhz-fsb) - nvidia geforce go 8600 m gt (256 mb dedicated memory) - 2 gig ram 667 mhz-dual-channel- ddr2 - 120 mb sata (7200rpm)-festplatte - dvd rw then i have calyway 10.5.1 osx-version. the first thing i did is to set my notebook-bios from "ata" to "ahci". then i started the installation. i used my whole harddisk and formated it with this "extended journal"-stuff. the first time i installed osx i used guid and i marked the whole vanilla-checkbox, the whole soundcard-checkbox and the whole graphiccard-checkbox because i didn't know what exactly i needed to choose inside the checkbox-menus. for boot i choosed mbr because that is what i choosed at the beginning, too. then osx installed and ... was installed successfully. then i needed to restart the system. the white screen with this apple-logo appears with this little kind of clock above rotating the pins. and then the pins stopped rotating the screen did one little kind of flicker and then freezes. nothin' moves anymore. the system crashed but with no rebooting or errormessages. it was still ... nothing happened anymore. i reinstalled the whole system and choosed mbr this time. and without installing vanilla-kernel. and i choosed "ata" instead of "ahci". again installation was successfully but after the restart the system crashed in the same way like before. what did i do wrong? does anybody know how to fix this error? would be very greatful thx Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/93228-installing-calyways-osx-1051-on-the-dell-xps-1530-notebook/ Share on other sites
