Problem "Still Waiting For Root" on ZNote 6625WD Laptop

Hi guys,

 

I've search around the web for a solution to this problem, unfortuantely (maybe due to limited knowledge) I haven't been able to piece together a logical solution. The chipset of my laptop is Intel® 965PM + ICH8-M :- I've tried Kalyway (months ago) and very recently iatkos and zephyroth, all to no avail (still waiting message). There doesn't appear to be anything in the bios to enable me to configure the IDE/SATA in such a way that will bypass the message.

 

Has anybody else got a znote and managed to succeed with installation? I am under the impression I will need to modify the contents of an existing OSX disc image to include the relevent Extentions (or possibly patch an image with PPF ? ) - if this is the case, could anybody point me in the right direction?

 

I appreciate the time and effort the experienced put into helping people in my position, and I will be more than grateful for even a little push to get me on track (I'll do as much research, learning and trying as I need to).

 

I have access to newsgroups and also a working macbook pro (if that will help me modify a disc image or something?). I don't have access to an external hard drive; the laptop is equipped with a single 120gb hard drive - I believed this to be SATA but upon opening the laptop it actually looks like some form of small ide interface.
