st0nedpenguin
Hi, I'm wanting to give a Leopard install a trial run, but the rig I'm planning on throwing it on doesn't have a DVD burner and I don't currently have access to one. I'm wondering if there's any way to mount and start a Leopard install from an ISO on a hard drive/network in a similar way to starting a Linux install? I also have a 2Gb USB drive and a 4Gb USB drive running on an M2 card if they're of any use. wmarsh
My SATA DVD burner was not supported (might be now with newer distros) so I wrote a guide for installing from USB HDD. Many other steps due to my ICH8R not being supported (again might be with newer distros). http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...151&hl=e520 But the basic idea is easy. Just use another working machine's disk utility to "restore" the install DVD to a partition on your USB drive. Then boot your machine off the USB drive.
