Songokuu Posted March 9, 2008 Share Posted March 9, 2008 when i first install leopard 10.5.1 all works fine (i dont add any drivers) but i must reinstall and when i do it ethernet dont work in Network config its give me "cable is not connected" what a {censored}? I reinstall it again and again and its work only when i install it first time please help I had dell vostro 1500 with broadcom4401, it works under 10.5.1, and stop functioning after upgraded to 10.5.2. Gambit642 Posted March 25, 2008 Share Posted March 25, 2008 AppleBCM440Ethernet.kext is removed from /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkFamily.kext in 10.5.2. So basically the driver is missing. If you use the original kext from 10.5.1, the network connection drops after a few minutes or under high CPU utilization (until you refresh new DHCP info). I have a AppleBCM440XEthernet.kext which, when applied, seems to keep OS X from booting (mDNSResponder loop). Anyone have the latest working stable driver for 10.5.2?
