bump!

same problem here..

OSx doesn't see the partition I made for it!

there are alrealdy 3 partitions on my 500Gb HD: (in order as they appear in Disk Management window)

-55Mb (EISA Configuration)

-15Gb NTFS (Recovery) D:

-440.94Gb NTFS (where my Vista is installed)

-9.77Gb Unallocated (the space I shrunk for OSx)

any ideas?

Make a 4th primary (not logical partition)

Vista won't do this -- it will make next one logical.

Try using Partition Magic or parted (linux tool)

Then manually change it to type AF

Then use disk utility to erase (really format) your partition.

thanks wmarsh

I used GParted to make a new partition..

it took at least 8 hours. I left it all night to finish.

when I rebooted there was an error in Windows startup (that Vista fixed automatically)

but it didn't solve the problem

I can see the newly created 10Gb Unlocated partition in Disk Management.

but still OSx doesn't see it.

any suggestions? anyone?

thanks

I am having the same problem, but when booting up the DVD - I sometimes get something like "No Boot.plist," which is the result of having an unsupported volume. When I get pass this (every so often), I then have no volume found in the disk utility, so it may be a disk error and I might just need to burn a new DVD. I don't really want to do this though, until I am sure that is the problem.
