Make a 4th primary (not logical partition) Vista won't do this -- it will make next one logical. Try using Partition Magic or parted (linux tool) Then manually change it to type AF Then use disk utility to erase (really format) your partition. kiboo
thanks wmarsh I used GParted to make a new partition.. it took at least 8 hours. I left it all night to finish. when I rebooted there was an error in Windows startup (that Vista fixed automatically) but it didn't solve the problem I can see the newly created 10Gb Unlocated partition in Disk Management. but still OSx doesn't see it. any suggestions? anyone? thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/92582-no-volume-found-on-iatkos-v10i/#findComment-662324 Share on other sites

When I get pass this (every so often), I then have no volume found in the disk utility, so it may be a disk error and I might just need to burn a new DVD. I don't really want to do this though, until I am sure that is the problem. tokebbi
My solution was ( win2003 server ) Using windows disk manager createed a partition and created a volum woth no drive letter instead of unallocated partition. And in Leopard disk utility erase it and formated it. Hope this helps.
