hogfan
I am simply trying to copy some files from a non-bootable OSX partition that is formatted HFS+ to another drive formatted as HFS+ (no journaling enabled). Knoppix refused to mount the partition as writable and it's really starting to annoy me! I manually mount the HFS+ partitions from the Terminal window, but regardless of how I try to change the permissions on the drive without journaling, Knoppix will not let me make it writable. What do I need to do to be able to write to this drive? Alessandro17
See my reply to: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=92475 Besides you probably need to log in as root (it can be done) and an installed Linux would probably be better than a Live CD.
