So I wanted to install OSX on a second partition on my harddrive that already had Vista on it (on a different partition).

I followed these instructions for having Vista first: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Vista_Dual_Boot

But now after installing Kalyway on that second partition, when I boot OSX, it crashes on start up, and when I boot to my Vista partition it won't load anything, saying there's been a hardware error. I've tried making sure that either the OSX partition is 'active' or the Vista one is..neither does anything different.

How can I get either to boot properly (without reformatting if possible)!? thanks

Boot vista DVD and let it repair Vista. If it cannot find the Vista OS on the HD, use diskpart to set Vista partition active, then repair. This should get you back to where you started with Vista. The next step is to find out what is causing your problem with osx. Try -x for safe boot, or -v to see what is causing the crash.

Good luck

Kenny
