ronocker
Hello, after I finished installation of kalyway 10.5.1, he doesn't boot. I only get the message "Package 0 didn't get an HPET". ACPI HPET Table in bios is enabled. I thought, maybe a bios upgrade would help me with this problem, but I cant update bios without windows (I installed EFI 73 guid only). Beerkex'd
If your motherboard can boot from USB you can flash the BIOS from a USB stick. Plug in the USB stick and go into the BIOS settings and see if you can set it as boot device. If you can, you'll need to make the stick bootable, there are various free tools out there that can do it. ronocker
I updated bios to the latest version. But when I start Mac with "-x -s cpus=1 " (cpus=1 because I have a Core2Quad) I only get these results: devfs_make_node: not ready for devices! Package 0 didn't get an HPET... Wayfarer247
I want to say I got that error too. Try switching around your Hard Drive configuration in the BIOS, or installing using different settings (MBR vs GUID) and perhaps don't install some optional packages. Try vanilla vs non-vanilla. (type vanilla) when booting off the CD (f8) to get the vanilla kernel (also select the package in the customize section). Since you haven't actually got it to work don't be afraid of reinstalling it. A lot. Just remember to Erase the disk before installing it again, do that in teh Disk Utility section.
