Hello all,

a few days ago I wrote a thread about not being able to get my 6800 Ultra working on 10.5.2. After inserting my device ID into the Geforce kexts the system boots fine now with nvinject (natit also works), but QE is reported as being not supported.

Does the 6800 Ultra work for anyone and what did you do? Best thing would be to change the device ID or fake it, because it seems that OSX just doesn't like it (?).

Are there any other things I could try other than going way back to 10.4.x where the cards reportedly worked fine?

My specs:

XFX Geforce 6800 Ultra (Device ID: 0x00f9)

P5W DH Deluxe

OSX 10.5.1 Kalyway patched to 10.5.2 with combo update and vanilla 9.2 kernel

Thanks for your help!

Hello,

I have the same problem, too. :D

My Graphic Card is a XFX Geforce 6800 Ultra

VRAM (Total): 256 MB

Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)

Device ID: 0x00f9

Revision ID: 0x00a2

Until today, I tried many things and different Leo-Versions (10.5.1-10.5.4) and "Drivers" (natit, Nvinstall, nvinject ...)

But nothing worked for me.

And I am sure, that edited my DevID to NVDAResman.kext, GeForce.kext, NVDA40Hal.kext and Natit.kext(or NVInject.kext) and repaired permissions correct...

I don´t know, if there will be any chance to get QE working with that card...

Is there anybody who got exactly this type of graphic card (with this device id) to work?

It seems strange that this card has the DevID 0x00f9 which should be a 6800GT - the Ultra should have 0x0040? - maybe this is the problem??
