I installed with Kalyway 10.5.1, ran all the stuff, only had HDA audio for realtek and the kernel things on. Installation went fine and error-free.

Reboot without dvd, and bummer. No go. Goes all the way up to the bootloader, booting without anything doesn't work. With (or without) -v it quickly displays some text and then video dies and the computer reboots. Don't know about any other commands.

Specs:

North: VIA P4M900

South: VIA VT8237S

Audio: Realtek ALC662 (Azalia)

LAN: Atheros AR8012BO1A (Yes, that IS ethernet and not wifi)

SATA and IDE are accounted for by those VIA chips.

Asus P5VD2-VM SE with Intel Pentium E2160, 1Gb DDR2, DVD drive as slave with Seagate ATA drive on master on the only ATA connector inside. Also has SATA but I don't have a SATA lying around atm. So, what's next? Any clues? :(

I can provide more information when needed.

Hit me.

Fixed by (of course) reading the kalyway thread: NX was disabeld and should have been on.

What's not doing what it's supposed to do:

- Audio (Realtek ALC662) Not working, not recognized.

- LAN (Atheros AR8012-B01A) Not working, not recognized.

- SATA not working

- Video is VESA. (P4M900's Chrome9)

My mobo: P5VD2-VM SE

CPU Intel Pentium Dualcore E2160 (1.8Ghz)

Will buy a 8400GS 256MB PCIe and see if it works.. They're cheap (39 eur) and seem to support QE & CI with a patch.

Hi Frnd

I also have the same problem. I used Kaliway Disc and installation went very fine. But when i restart it after pullin out the DVD then it shows the daarwin bootloader and after i enter or in any other startup mode the same prob is there. that is the video dies ..

How can i disable/enable NX?

Plz Answer

Thnx in Advance...

I got my setup working :thumbsup_anim: Everything, except for audio and video. Video will never work (chrome9) so that's getting replaced by the 8400GS soon. SATA works by adding the DEV_ID for 5372 VIA chip into the VIAATA kext. Audio needs a patch (ALC662 can work with the ALC882 driver??)
