jrpvt
Is it possible to download the osx 10.4.5 update from the apple website, install it on a 10.4.1 system and then patch the hard drive (using another computer) with the 10.4.4 / 10.4.3 maxxuss patches? i installed 10.4.5 over 10.4.1 but got an error in the process (almost at the end when it was optimizing). The computer crashed and wouldn't boot past the darwin screen on reboot. Then I applied some of the 10.4.4 patches just to see if it would start to boot and it loaded the gray apple this time, but it wouldn't start to try to load after that. The reason why I'm not using 10.4.3 is because the dvd keeps crashing just before the installer. any ideas? R. Bear Helms
I can (with high confidence) say no. 10.4.5 seems to be Apple's next attempt to foil the decryption that Maxxuss has worked so hard to remove. I'm afraid that someone there is playing cat-and-mouse with the releases, cranking up the obfuscation probably until the damned mach_kernel needs a 2 layer DVD all to itself Treat Apple's releases as a virus to those of us with non-Apple brands, until you hear otherwise.
