spsmartguy Posted March 2, 2008 Share Posted March 2, 2008 Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone knew the cure to my problem. I am kind of a n00b, but I do have 2 Hackint0sh systems working right now. One is a desktop AMD 4600+ and that works great, sound and all. My laptop is however, a bit older, but it works great all except for the sound. It is a Gateway 4535GZ, with a Pentium Intel 1.7 Centrino, and for audio, it has AC97 Audio. The sound controls all work, and the System Prefs say that my sound works fine and I can readjust my (PCM) sound with the button on the laptop or in the software. However, no matter what I do to adjust the sound, I get no output from the speakers, or the output/input jacks. Does anyone have any solutions how I can get my audio working in this system? I've done searches upon searches, and I can't find anything on this problem. If you need more info, please let me know. Thanks. spsmartguy Posted March 3, 2008 Author Share Posted March 3, 2008 I've tried using most of those AC97 and modifying things and such as suggested in some of those threads, however, my problem remains. The volume control is there, but there is no actual sound coming through the speakers. I have a 24c5 8086 AC97 audio device, as many other older laptops do, but at this point, I am completely stuck. Everything else on this laptop works great, except for this. If anyone has any ideas.. hacks, tricks, tips, etc. as to IF or HOW i can get this working, I would really appreciate it. Seems that my Input Jack works fine as an input jack, but neither my output jack nor my speakers work. Does this maybe narrow down what the problem could be? Thanks..
