Don't know why, it just fails. I'm trying it again with the natit driver for my graphics card, maybe that works.

Stats are:

Dell Optiplex GX270

Intel P4 2.8GHz (SSE2 only)

512MB ram250GB HDD

GeForce FX5200 256mb graphics

Anything else just post please, I really want this to work..

Im pretty sure thats the EFI boot loader failing to load at the end.

I've had several Kalyway installs go that way and still work

In those cases OS X is installed you just have to manually reinstall the bootloader

Use the guide stickied and it should work

Are you talking about this guide: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=73952

I got the same error, I was installing with GUID I think. Should I retry with MBR?

Yes try with MBR. Last time i used GUID i got an error ..

Well I tried with GUID again, now it finishes but I get the /com.apple.Boot.plist not found.

Should I just try again with MBR?

Edit: Alright, well I have some time on my hands so I'm going to try MBR this go around, hopefully this works.

It should do.Good luck.

No luck. It starts to boot, flashes the grey apple logo screen, and reboots. Is it something I've done? I've installed vanilla kernel, SSE2 patch, nvinject for my nvidia geforce fx5200, and EFI_MBR. That's it. Should I give it a shot without nvinject?

Yes i think thats the problem. Not sure.try it

That, and also maybe I don't need the SSE2 patch that comes on the DVD. I forgot to run CPU-Z before installing OS X, and it seems to me that the processor is a 2.8GHz with HT, and HT processors are all SSE3.

Edit: Seems like there is some bad ram as well, I've run memtest86 and I'm getting huge errors on this one stick, I'm going to pull it out and give it another go.
