asot Posted March 2, 2008 Share Posted March 2, 2008 Hey guys, yesterday i started the long jurney of installing osx on my pc... i have come to the situatiuon where i needed to switch my dvd burner from IDE to SATA becouse it didnt read the ISO (iatkos v1.0i)...now it boots off the dvd BUT, i get the annoying famouse error,still waiting for root device, i searched the net for answers and i tried everything including jumpering,their is something i am sure i'm missing, so please read the specs and please try to help on this... I have: Asus P5K motherboard with 2 SATA HDD's,the first is where vista installed, the second Have 2 partitions,one have usual files,games,music ect', and the other is a partition created using this guide -> http://inihilist.wordpress.com/2008/01/07/...and-fool-proof/ this partition is active and primary... Sata configurations as follows: Sata-1 = the first HDD (Vista) Sata-2 = the second HDD Sata-3= DVD Burner their is only 4 sata connectors... I tried to leave only the second HDD on sata 1,while the first is dissconnected' and still got the error. Jumping order as writen near the pins as follows: First HDD: 1.SSC 2.PM2 3.OPT1 4.OPT2 Second HDD: 1.Blank (no writing near the pins) 2.PM2 3.OPT1 4.FW **The Sata DVD Drive have no jumpers** So guys, please help me on this, what is the propper jumping situation, and dose it really a jumper problem?
