Wayfarer247
Okay, so I have just upgraded to 10.5.2, and everything went well, thanks to ~pcwiz. However, I have come across a peculiar thing when repairing permissions. After doing Kalyway's 10.5.2 combo update, I found a whole bunch of broken permissions, and they all were repaired. However, now when I search for permissions, I always get the same broken file, which never seems to be able to be fixed. Now, it isn't a Kext, but it is still interesting... Here is the log from Disk Utility: 2008-03-01 10:08:17 -0500: Disk Utility started. 2008-03-01 10:08:23 -0500: Verify permissions for “Leopard” 2008-03-01 10:10:04 -0500: Permissions differ on "usr/X11/lib/libX11.6.2.0.dylib", should be lrwxr-xr-x , they are -rwxr-xr-x . 2008-03-01 10:10:08 -0500: 2008-03-01 10:10:08 -0500: Permissions verification complete 2008-03-01 10:10:08 -0500: 2008-03-01 10:10:08 -0500: 2008-03-01 10:11:07 -0500: Repairing permissions for “Leopard” 2008-03-01 10:12:47 -0500: Permissions differ on "usr/X11/lib/libX11.6.2.0.dylib", should be lrwxr-xr-x , they are -rwxr-xr-x . 2008-03-01 10:12:50 -0500: 2008-03-01 10:12:50 -0500: Permissions repair complete 2008-03-01 10:12:50 -0500: 2008-03-01 10:12:50 -0500: I can do that many, many times.... Ongeloof
You could try repairing disk permissions in terminal. open terminal tpye: sudo -s (hit return) type: (put in your password) type: diskutil repairPermission (hit return) that should repair them, it is only a different method, but it may work Think Mark
Wayfarer247
you forgot where diskutil should go. In this case, "/" diskutil verifyPermissions / diskutil repairPermissions / But yeah, thank you! I'm trying it out now.
