VanMuur Posted March 1, 2008 Share Posted March 1, 2008 Hi everyone, I have JaS 10.4.8 running on an HP Pavillion dv6205us and on AC power it works great. As soon as I pull the plug, the battery drains in about 10-15 minutes. I think it might be a power related kext, but I have no idea which one. I've also checked the various forums and haven't been able to find any related discussion threads. Has anyone else run into this before? I tried using the battery in the Vista installation I had running on the other partition, and it drain extraordinarily fast as well. I called HP, wondering if it was a bad battery, and they said it wasn't; the dv6000 and dv9000 series, because of its high multimedia oriented program content, only had batteries that would last between 30 and 45 minutes. A far cry from the 2-3 hours I was expecting. I guess Mac OS is even more CPU oriented, as I only get 5-10 minutes of battery power in it. Does anyone else experience this as well?
