hmclog
I'm using ToH RC2 and already updated it to 10.5.2. With 10.5.2 the boot of the system takes over 2 minutes. Because of this I want using the 9.2.0 kernel (my cpu is AMD). But this kernel requires pc_efi (or not?). Is it possible to install pc_efi on a already working system? Is there a howto? Proteo
Yes, you can add EFI to your current installation. You don't need to do anything special, just follow any of the guides available in the forum to install it as if it were on a virgin partition. And you're right, universal 9.2.0 kernel requires EFI, but I'm not quite sure if it will improve your boot times (unless you have the video blackout issue). It will allow you to use EFI strings and other neat things, though. BTW, you posted at the wrong forum Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/91007-installing-pc_efi-on-toh/#findComment-649482 Share on other sites
hmclog
BTW, you posted at the wrong forum ...and this is why I couldn't find my post under 10.5 To admin: please move my topic to 10.5. Thanks. No, I don't have any video blackout issue. So it is the best to leave everything as it is? Proteo
You may not see any difference at all. It is up to you, but if it ain't broken, don't fixit, remeber? You may want to wait and do it when you need to do a clean install.
