dobbylan
Hi, I'd like to install OS X within VMWare 6. I tried it using the Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2] image but the installation failed. What OS X flavour would you recommend for my hardware: CPU: AMD Opteron 246 (2GHz) Mainboard: Tyan S2885 (AMD-8111 chipset) GPU: NVidia 6800 Ultra Please help me! basketcase3000
I would certainly try a Leopard install, either 10.5.1 or 10.5.2. As you are using an AMD processor, I would suggest a Zephyroth release (these are optimised for AMD processors). Installing OSX as a virtual machine is generally slow and fairly unrewarding once installed. Unless you really can't (or don't want to) install OS X as an actual system installation on its own partition then I wouldn't recommend installing it as a virtual machine.
