Hey there:

I have seen this problem on many iMacs and Macbook now, so I think it is a problem with OSX or the sound card they are now using in the new machines. When I try to raise the volume on my Macbook, I have a delay and then the quack sound is actually heard. Once the soundcard wakes up, this does not happen. After 30 seconds exactly, the sound card appears to go back to sleep and pops in my speakers. When I start anything with sound, I again get the delay in the sound being heard, and the loud pop in my speakers. Why does this happen??? This appears only in Mac OS, not in Windows on Bootcamp on the same machine. You can hear this really well with headphones, and it is exactly 30 seconds, and then you hear silence.

Please HELP .. Someone else has to be seeing this too.
