guaterickie
well no one helped me but i was able to find something out. here isi my help to you guys if someone ever gets stuck with that error on a usb hdd external drive. if you partitioned your drive as guid and received that error, try partitioning as mbr. it worked for me. no matter how many times i tried guid and trying all fixes it never worked. once i partitioned with mbr it finally booted up. another thing to take note of. when i tell the bios to boot the usb hdd drive first os x does not boot up, i have to press F12 during POST and then manually select it in order for it to boot. Hope that helps future problems with USB HDD drives.
