kalaway 10.5.2 combo update trouble

i dl the kalaway combo update and updated my 10.5.1 kalaway efi guid install (vanilla) and it take a while to booth and then my dvi screen goes blank for like 30+ seconds and finally it comes alive.. i have already tried booting with -v -f to see if the kexts were to blame.

 

i kind of read somewhere that its because i need to update the kernel? but then i saw another post where someone said the kernel update hosed thier system.

 

my system is q6600 with asus maximus mobo and a 7950 gtoc nvidia 512 (rom flashed to work out of box)

 

so is the 10.5.2 vanilla kernel safe for my system if that is indeed what the problem is? if not how do i fix this slow boot?

It is normal on the first boot for it to be slow. Be patient. See what happens on the second boot.

ive rebooted like 6 times and its slow everytime.

k i bit the bullet and installed the vanilla 10.5.2 kerne and its working normal now. dont think ill risk installing the graphics update tho.

What graphics card are you using? Oops! I didn't read your post right. Im using an Nvidia 7300GT and I did the graphics update. No issue to report for me.
