m4ri0
Unfortunately my DVD-Drive doesn't work on my notebook. If I try to boot the iATKOS_v1.0i.iso-file I get some errors. BSD root: disk1s3, major 14, minor 7SAM Multimedia: READ or WRITE failed, SENSE_KEY = 0x03, ASC = 0x02, ASCQ = 0x00 (this message appears 5 times) disk1s3: I/O Error, ... panic(cpu 0 caller 0x0036CAD7): "Process 1 exec of /sbin/launchd failed, errno 5\n"@/SourceCode/xnu/xnu-1228/bsd/kern/kern_exec.c:2884 Debugger called: <panic> ... Backtrace terminated-invalid frame pointer 0 And so I would like to install ATKOS via PXE network install. Is this possible in any way? thanks for answering m4ri0 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/90114-installing-osx-via-pxe/ Share on other sites
eLd
had the same problem and the same idea.. i have read some site's about network boot. here what i have understood until know, no guarantees of correctness: when you boot via network you transfer a very little OS to the machine. this OS the installs or boots the real OS you want. so basically it sould be possible. i never read anything that i's possible to transfer such a amount of files. my idea was to modify a linux whitch is bootable via PXE to install the OSx86 instead of the original OS. but: it could also be that when booting via PXE you already transfer the Kernel which is also used by the OS you want install. in that case it would'nt be possible to install Osx86 vie PXE, because the kernel doesnt know anything about your lan-card(i assume) didnt understand the whole process until know.. so all this is just speculation...
