wywywywy
Hi, Noob here... Basically I installed 10.4.8 on an Aopen Mini PC (SSE2 only, non dual boot), got everything working - all apps, sound, lan, gfx, etc (well, other than sleep, but that doesn't really matter). So this morning I thought to myself now that everything is done, the only thing left before I use it as a perm desktop machine is to apply the patches from Apple to sort out security problems etc. So I went to Software Update, ticked everything on the list and let it do its magic, then went for lunch. After its finished downloading and installing, I came back and saw one of the updates is the 10.4.11 update... I thought "oh ****". Rebooted the machine and needless to say... it won't boot Aqua It just reboots itself after the "Loading Darwin" screen. I guess the patched kernel must have been replaced. Obviously if it was a Windows installation, I'll just plug the hard drive into another PC and replace a few files. But as it is a OSX installation, I am lost as to what to do... So is there any way I can rescue my installation please? I don't mind whether the end result will be 10.4.11 or 10.4.8, or even a mixture of both as long as it works! Any advice/comments/suggestions/recommendations welcome! Thanks. wywywywy
Hi all, I replaced the kernel with the one on the JaS DVD, so I think I am one step closer. But how do I replace the extensions as well? I can't find them on the DVD Are they hidden inside an archive or something? Thanks!
