Your Recommendations

I'm rather new to "alternative" operating systems, and have been dabbling with the likes of ubuntu and other linux distributions for a while now. The first and last time I installed osx86 on my PC was new years eve with jas mac (at least that's what I think it was called) and it worked out fine except for the fact that it wouldnt recognize my network adaptor, no matter how many drivers i tried.

I had to reinstall XP because I just can't live without the net.

Since then I've discovered that the world of osx86 has evolved rather dramatically.

So, I was wondering if there anyone far wiser than I could spare a few minutes recommending a distro depending on my rather old (in terms of computers) system spec:

 

Motherboard: MSI K82 neo, 939, agp, ddr

GPU: Nvidia 7600 gs AGP

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 x2 4200+ 939

RAM: 2x 512mb ddr

HDD: IDE Samsung 250gb

Dvd RW: not sure, it's an OEM from my brothers old pc.

 

Any help would greatly be appreciated. As of now, I'm leaning towards Zephyroth.
