Ludvig M
Hi everybody. I installed JaS 10.4.8 on my laptop Thinkpad R40. Installation went fine, but I dont have internet. I've searched and searched, but I can't find any drivers. Maybe I'm searching wrong words. According to this site I have: 10/100 Ethernet installed on systems via the system board Actiontec 802.11b wireless LAN on selected models High Rate Dual-band 802.11a/b Wireless on selected models Cisco Aironet Wireless 802.11b on selected models In Windows, I can use wireless, so some wireless card do I have. So, do anyone have som experiences about the Thinkpad R40 or my internet card? And yea, my english is terrible Sorry about that. Now my hints for your search: WLAN is a MiniPCI Intel Pro2100b and you can use the driver on this link http://code.google.com/p/iwidarwin/ If it works for you, WLAN is recognized as Airport. Onboard Lan is a Intel/Pro 100/VE and need to replace the Original IONetworking.kext with one from Tiger 10.4.3 you can find in this Post http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=42782 But I have to say, that the WLAN driver did not work for me, but since I tried, it has been actualized. And I didn't tried again. So it may work for you. Probably you better change your WLAN-MiniPCI Module with an other one. Best working is an Intel/Pro 2200 you best buy at the Bay for under 20€ or 15$. The driver for that Card you can find at the same link above. Remember with dedicated Radeon7500mobility you have to change your screensaver. It freezes my R40. I had to delete Flurry Screensaver in Finder to change my screensaver, because Preview in the dialog did freezing too. When you have the same Graphic-Chip, did you solve it otherwise? Did you get CI/QE support? Thanks for reply... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89943-cant-get-internet-to-work/#findComment-671261 Share on other sites
TomAngel
I got QE to work by using Radeon7500Pack found in these pages in the deep. But CI still doesn't work. For Internet I now use a E-Plus/BASE UMTS Card (Cardbus). Dial-In now is possible by Native Driver and Tool found on the E-Plus Homepage. (Mobile UMTS Flatrate for 25 Euro by Base, only in Germany).
