Hi everybody I have just finished installing OSX on my system and I took pictures the whole way through. I am ready to write up my first guide, but first, I need to get my graphics working and also update.

Right now I am running 10.4.8 JaS on an AMD platform. If I dare to try the system update, It will freeze and then reboot gives a kernel panic, rendering OSX unusable. I tried to research this but the search function is down. I want to update my system.

On my motherboard, I have an ATI Radeon X700 AGP card with 256mb dedicated video memory. OSX does not load any kexts for this device and it automatically goes into 1024x768. I want to hit 1280x1024 and also the window dragging gets choppy if anything is running in the background. Definately sounds like graphics drivers to me. Anybody want to turn me in the right direction?
