CompCrasher86 Posted February 24, 2008 Share Posted February 24, 2008 Hi everybody I have just finished installing OSX on my system and I took pictures the whole way through. I am ready to write up my first guide, but first, I need to get my graphics working and also update. Right now I am running 10.4.8 JaS on an AMD platform. If I dare to try the system update, It will freeze and then reboot gives a kernel panic, rendering OSX unusable. I tried to research this but the search function is down. I want to update my system. On my motherboard, I have an ATI Radeon X700 AGP card with 256mb dedicated video memory. OSX does not load any kexts for this device and it automatically goes into 1024x768. I want to hit 1280x1024 and also the window dragging gets choppy if anything is running in the background. Definately sounds like graphics drivers to me.
