inedible
So I've gone and downloaded the zephyroth 10.5.2 install iso from the newsgroup... managed to repair the broken downloads using quickpar... sucessfully extracted an iso with the correct md5sum.. But when I go to boot off the disc I burned, I get stuck at the blue screen with no mouse cursor. I figured I'd try the disc in my other computer, and it booted fine... So then I decided I'd stick my laptop harddrive in my desktop (I removed all other drives first so it would be disk0 to prevent any problems down the line), and I was able to sucessfully install it. Now, when I put the drive back in my laptop, first of all it's not bootable, I get a blinking cursor of death... But when I try and boot off the dvd I'm getting the same blue screen! I've tried using the following boot options to no effect: rd=disk0s2 -v -x cpus=1 "Graphics Mode"="640x480x32".. also of course just tried letting the dvd time out, and everything I do I'm still stuck staring at the blue screen. I've also tried booting into single user mode (works fine), and tried copying some kexts from 10.5.1 such as ApplePS2Controller.kext, AppleSMBIOS.kext, IONetworkingFamily.kext and a couple others... corrected permissions, deleted caches, rebooted each time. no luck. Any suggestions? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89735-zeph-1052-install-stuck-at-blue-screen/ Share on other sites

hacman
I have not yet managed to get Zeph downloaded, but I got exactly the same effect with iATKOS 1.0ir2 (+EqUaTe1 & BADBIOS) post-installation. I found a posting that said this effect was caused by the display driver outputting its main display through the external VGA port, not through the built-in screen. I then hooked up the laptop to my external monitor and sure enough I had a perfect display on the external screen. But I couldn't get it to use only the internal screen, so I reinstalled with Leo4Allv2. It may not be your problem, but it's worth checking.
