alen1234
Hi! I'm all new to this Mac thing. So after a smooth install of Tiger 10.4.8 i restarted a comp. While boot it shows an apple splash screen and after a 30 second it shows a restart needed message like this(see attached picture). When I boot the system with -v command it stops at login screen loaded message or something like that. I don't know what to do.. Any ideas? My configuration: AMD X2 64 6000+ GIGABYTE GA-M55S-S3 Geforce 8600GTS 2GB RAM 1x IDE ATA 120GB 1x SATA 320GB Edit: so this is where it stucks in verbose mode: localhost /System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindows.app/Contents/MacOS/loginwindows: Login Window Application started Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89731-stuck-on-apple-splash-screen-restart-needed/ Share on other sites

alen1234
It doesn't work :/ "legacy cpus=1" just gives me an empty command line after pressing enter key - nothing happens. If i try just "cpus=1" it boots but with same errors. So attached a screenshot in verbose mode. Thanks in advance! alen1234
I finally solved my problem. The prob. was in nv40 drivers, which i chosed to install for older nvidia cards. So I did a complete reinstall without those drivers and Mac works offtopic: Now I must get my built in Ethernet and sound card to work. Anyone knows where i can get drivers for them. Its nForce550 chipset.. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89731-stuck-on-apple-splash-screen-restart-needed/#findComment-641822 Share on other sites
