macxp Posted February 12, 2006 Share Posted February 12, 2006 hi i'm new to this forums . i got the bootable dvd-r iso do i need to apply any patch befor itry to install this ? .Apple.OS.X.x86.Developer.Kit.Install.DVD-pheNIX and ,Apple.OS.X.x86.Developer.Kit.Install.DVD-deadmoo this is dmg put i converted to iso and burned to a dvd-r my pcbox spec are Motherboard Name PCChips M925 Front Side Bus Properties: Bus Type Intel NetBurst Bus Width 64-bit Real Clock 133 MHz (QDR) Effective Clock 533 MHz Bandwidth 4266 MB/s Chipset Bus Properties: Bus Type VIA V-Link Bus Width 8-bit CPU Type Intel Celeron D 325, 2533 MHz (19 x 133) CPU Alias Prescott-256 CPU Stepping E0 Instruction Set x86, MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 Original Clock 2533 MHz Min / Max CPU Multiplier 14x / 19x Engineering Sample No L1 Trace Cache 12K Instructions L1 Data Cache 16 KB L2 Cache 256 KB (On-Die, ECC, ATC, Full-Speed) and after booting from dvd and using -v ,-x ,-f i got this error still waiting for root device my hd is 200gb samsung pata any link to fix this problem . or solutions to this error thank 's Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8935-install-error/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
R. Bear Helms Posted February 12, 2006 Share Posted February 12, 2006 Waiting for root device means a hard drive can't be found that it can mount and use. Sometimes you need to use a partitioning method (diskpart from inside an XP cmd window) to create a partition with an id=AF. Then if OS X can handle your hard drive controller, it should at least boot for you then.
