Heres an idea...

 

Get rid of the boot loader! Maybe create one that:

 

a) Has no wait time...

b) If needed, can boot into s/u mode via a key combo

c) The hard one: play the mac startup tone as provided here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sosumi

d) Easier to use/customize... like ISOLINUX or similar

 

If -any- is feasable, please post in this thread...

a. the existing one can be configured with no wait time

 

b. nice enough idea, but you can just specify a boot argument to do it

 

c. practically impossible with the range of soundcards out there... you dont want to build a bootloader with an entire audio subsystem... do you?!

 

d. bit vague.. what would you want to do? i mean, it *is* only a bootloader....

ok...

 

just want to give a quick idea about my audio on load idea... Possiably just initalize the 'driver' from the hardrive selected. Otherwise just ignore it... If that could be done, it would 'sound' like a 'real' mac
