apreichner
Alright, so I have been following the directions on this iAtkos AMD installation: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=87589 But it came to a point where I needed to type -f -v -s and get into the command line. He then tells me I need to copy the files from the patch dir and replace certain files. (8)place the "patches" folder you extracted from the iAtkos-AMD.zip on your root directory "/". Replace the System.kext, AppleSMBIOS.kext, IOATAFamily.kext, forcedeth.kext in your Leopard's partition /System/Library/Extensions folder with the kexts included in the iATKOS-AMD folder. Repair permissions for them by typing Now I understand the part about chmodding and fixing the permissions because it says what to type. But, I am confused about how to copy the files and replace the files. I tried using the CP command and the MV command to move the files, but I keep getting an error that says that the file system was read only? I have Linux and Windows Vista. I already tried to transfer the files over using linux, but it says I don't have the permissions to do it. I would appreciate any help; this is the only OS x86 that has actually worked for me, I just need to copy and replace the files.
