djeug
I'm running Kalyway (10.5.1 + update to 10.5.2 w/ GUID + EFI and EFI strings for gfx, sound, network) I removed the AppleIntelCpu and AppleCPUThermo kexts that are known for overheating I have a E6550 Core 2 Duo 2.33Mhz - B Stepping - G0 Revision My bios reads around 32-33C per core on idle Vista reads about 35C per core on idle using Speedfan and IAT OS X reads about 44-45C per core using Temperature Monitor. Is that normal? I heard certain steppings of C2D show wrong temps. Is osx overheating or just lying to me? Thanks! CompCrasher86
My old laptop would run idle around 45 and the the fans would kick in at 49. My desktop idles at 38 and hits 52 after an hour of rendering or gaming. I don't think it is much to worry about but I wouldn't rely on solely my opinion. We'll see what somebody else thinks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/88939-are-my-temps-normal/#findComment-634880 Share on other sites
