10.5.2 Update Problem - InstallAtStartup folder

I ran the update and was able to remove the "cpu" file. The install finished and it is not asking me to restart. I understand that I first need to replace the "Do not steal Mac" with the "dsmos". The problem is that I can not access the InstallAtStartup file. It has a european style stop sign in the lower corner of the folder icon. I attempted to repair permissions and that did not change anything. This happened on my last attempt at the update and I though I did something wrong before. I'm waiting for an answer before I restart so I do not have to reinstall everything again.

you need to do this as a privileged user ie root

so open your terminal

type su

(now when asked enter your root password)

now type cd <space>

ie press the space bar after you type cd

now drag and drop the folder containing the file you need to edit onto the terminal its path will be auto entered in for you

press enter

if memory serves me right the file you need to edit is called "1" (without quotes) so type

pico 1

next use your cursor to navigate to the line and position containing dont steal this mac...

and using the delete key remove the text and type in the required text ie dsmos.kext

now press and hold the control key and press x

press y to accept the changes and

press enter

and reboot
