Hi. I got the leopard-10.5.2-amd and tried to install it on my laptop. the problem is i dont even get to the real installation process. with -v option at boot: it get to the point where message RTL8139::fixEnetFlowControl -Flow Control is disabled printed followed by still waiting for root device messages repeatedly. I searched and searched but couldnot find any solution. Any help will be appreicated. Thanks

I'm also having this exact issue. I'm using a Toshiba A135 s2386 with an atheros network card and a realtek lan card... could either of these be the problem? I'd really like to know if it's possible to bypass this issue.

EDIT: Correction. I'm using ToH's rc2 DVD. and it still doesn't work.

So, is anyone going to answer this thread? It'd be super great if someone could!

I'm also having the same problem: I can't get to the actual installation.

I am only able to get to the point where it says that the "Flow Control is disabled"

Then it keeps "trying" to read from the DVD, but we all know, when it's not doing anything, and it's in a pattern, it's really NOT DOING ANYTHING.

Ugh, seriously.

Waiting for root device-->well known issue

If you are getting troubles with the RTL,disable it from BIOS.If you still have some problems, boot with -v -legacy or -v -x.

I am sure that at least one person did read this thread, but you should post on the official site (check my sign),or on the thread started by ka911...

Hmmm, the only way I can figure this will ever work is if I modify the iso to have the PcGenRTL8139 kext in it instead of the AppleRTL8139.kext. However, the only way I can do that is if I have Mac OS X, which is the entire point of why I'm doing this in the first place...

I've got some friends with Mac OS X, but goodness, it seems kinda redundant to do that.

Do you know of any way I can do it on Windows? It seems (as of right now) that I can't even modify an iso. Sure, I can do it with UltraISO, but when I try to SAVE the iso so I can BURN it, UltraISO only saves a 42 KB iso file, instead of a 4.37 GB file =P

So, that's not really helping me.

Oh goodness.
