Krazubu
Wrong place, thread moved. I'd even be tempted to say "wrong forum", but anyway I have the skills to answer you. Like many wireless devices for Vista, it must be "driver-locked" for it. Which means it theorically works flawlessly in XP, but these @#$%s manufacturers force you to stick with vista by hiding the peripheral infos, and not releasing a driver. I've already fixed this on a wireless on a HP computer. This device should be a generic device that already has drivers for XP. You have to find which one it is "really". Once done, DL the official driver, then you'll have to open the .inf file of the driver to change the generic device device and vendor ID so that it match yours. Can't be more specific, it's a matter of long searching and ingeniosity, through a long and smart quest for the truth Ex : the "acer wireless adapter", is actually a good'ol Ralink RTXXXX, identical, except the device ID, so you take the Ralink RTXXXX device driver from their website, edit the inf, change all occurences of the XXXX XXXX string (ven+dev ID) with the one of your adapter. Install as usual, and voilà Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/88688-problem-with-acer-5610z-wireless/#findComment-632734 Share on other sites
