okey. . i did everything here - > http://www.profit42.com/guides.php?id=1 , but i didn't burn the image on a dvd-r , but on dvd-rw , cause i thought it wont matter so much. reset after the PM setting the active part , inserting the dvd , then it came - "click enter to install osx , or f8 (i think it was f8) to see options or something like that, so i hit ENTER , the screen blinked and it came a text on it - "u should restart ur pc" - basic . . i can't write the whole text , it was on 4 or 5 languages , i think (and hope) , this problem will be from that the cd wasn't dvd-r. now i'm waiting my friend to bring me dvd-r so i can try with it. Should i try , or do something else . . cause on the tutorial it says if the installation give me the "hfs+ partition error" to change to win ,to install os selector and then reset. What's your suggestion ?

leave that i burn it on a dvd-r , and the messege appeared again - "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button for several seconds or press the Restart button." and under it the same on French , German and Japanese/Chinese . HELP ? :D

and at the botom ->

I'm guessing from what I see that it may be the Serial ATA (SATA) drive has something on it doesn't like... a partition it can't handle, or maybe the SATA hardware itself is not compatible.

Is it possible to disable the SATA drives in your BIOS and try again?

In general, the full text of the line with the word "panic" at the front is the diagnostic message people will analyze for you. You left out some details about the address that caused the fault, what CPU complained, what thread, that sort of thing.

I noticed also this panic was from cpu 1. This means (usually) the 2nd core of a dual-core system. If yours is not a Pentium Core Duo, try again with the Hyperthreading feature disabled in the BIOS.

I don't know if it's possible to disable the SATA drives in my BIOS , but if i do this, i'll have to connect my hdd with the normal cable (don't know the name ide i think) , and it will be kind of slow. , my cpu is not with 2cores it's p4 630 like yours i think. any other suggestions ? if it can be from the sata i can try , but i'm not very familiar with these things. :(

Yes, mine has the same CPU, but different motherboard. I disabled SATA on my motherboard and have just 1 IDE hard disk (partitioned into NTFS and OS X), and as a slave on that same IDE chain, the DVD-RW drive, which is what I boot the install DVD from.

If this panic definitely is from CPU 1, since it counts from 0, it must be that hyperthreading is not working well. Disable the hyperthreading (HT) feature in the BIOS first, then worry about the SATA later.

I know there are some issues with nVidia and OS X, but I don't know what people do about it - there's some MacVidia project on the boards here that talks about it. Seems as if they're not fully functional yet.

okey i disabled the HT , then i saw the Apple's apple :( (didn't saw before) , and the same {censored} as above except that there were many things about USB , so i disabled and the usb , and tried again. . . the same as above what i posted before just before the "Security auditing service present" now i got ->

The Regends bla bla. . . . California . . . bla bla

................ some things......

IO APIC: Version 0x20 Vectors 0:24

and the same things as the last time :/

i dont want to hijack this thread, yet i am having the same problem:

panci(cpu 0 caller 0x0019C554): commpage no match on last routine

Amd 2500

Gigabyte Motherboard K7 Triton Series

1 Gig DDR-333 Ram

80 Gig IDE Seagate

Pioneer DVD-RW (out of mac g5 :()

LG DVD

FLoppy

Realtek 10/100 PCI

Radeon 9200 Pro

AHA! A commpage fault! I had those.

It took me several days. The problem was the disk image (dmg) was ok, but translating it to ISO did NOT match the MD5 checksum shown for it. Therefore, despite the patching working without complaints, despite it booting to a point - I'd get commpage faults.

This is a fault regarding the SSE2/SSE3 functions, which are allegedly error-proof on all cpus with SSE2 or SSE3 instruction sets.

I found the unregistered version of UltraISO does NOT create a correct output file from a dmg source. The MD5 doesn't match up.

I go find UltraISO running registered, do the same function, the MD5 matches perfectly.

I *LOATHE* crippleware. Either show me what you can do or just don't give me a lame example of a maybe works solution.

Below is what the readme for 4.2b patches says:

EDIT: Removed content violating DMCA

I also have included the MD5 calculation utility used for generating this info as an attachment.

Hm, attachments while editing no workee?

Newbie here.... I have installed the 10.4.3 with wesleys patch... everything installed OK. When I boot into OSX, i get the apple logo, with the twirl under it. When this screen ends, and I am supposed to get the Apple first time startup screen i only recieve the blue background. What the hell am I doing wrong? The 10.4.1 is working perfectly, as a matter of fact I am writing this in 10.4.1:)

I have a HP Pavilion DV4164, 1,86ghz Intel Pentium Centrino, with Intel GMA900 chipset, Broadcom internal wireless card.
