McMevan
I followed this guide too... was using kalyway though and not iatkos. I skipped from #11 to where you close this window that you used to format the drive, then click your drive to install to, choose custom options and install... then continue using this guide. PS: I was able to successfully install. DavidinCT
hello ive been folowing this guide.. http://inihilist.wordpress.com/2008/01/07/...and-fool-proof/ im stuck at step 12 where it says " Now close this disk utility and click on Utilities->Darwin_Boot" when i go to the utilities option there is no "darwin boot" option?? help please.. I used the same guide to install mine (dual booting with Vista), I am assuming your using 1.0ir2 as that will not give you the darwin boot. Don't worry about it, when you get about to install, click cusomize, then select a boot loader (that replaces that section), I went with Darwin X86, it works fine, follow the rest of the directions from that point. To also note, when you change back partitions to boot off the vista one, and it still gives you HFS+ errors, boot with the Vista disc, select repair computer, command prompt, use the "diskpart" command (like early in the list), and make your vista partition Active. (doing it under the linux boot didn't seem to do it for me, had to use the windows one). Good luck. -Dave Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/88308-error-there-is-no-utilities-darwin_boot/#findComment-629797 Share on other sites

TechTalkAbbott
I FOUND THE SOLUTION!!! It's your boot priorities! If the DVD drive is set to boot before your HDD, Darwin_Boot will call it disk 5. You can't put the bootloader on disk 5 for some reason. So change your boot priorites, to where the HDD boots first, and then use the boot list selection from the posting BIOS, and VWALAAA! I struggled with this for hours! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/88308-error-there-is-no-utilities-darwin_boot/#findComment-749888 Share on other sites
