Installed the 10.5.1 version first works great still does, however after doing the 10.5.2 update it appears to lag quite abit now at startup once running it appears to be ok.. I am currently instaled on 40 gig WD drive in AHCI mode, I have a sata drive but wanted to tinker with spare drive before blowing out my main sata drive.

I am running C2D E6850@ 3.6ghz

2 gig ddr 2 1066 ram

P5K Deluxe WiFi Ap Board..

All is running, sound and nic, haven't figured out who to enable my wireless portion * can't find it * in preference, but main concern is fixing this lag at bootup... it's prob a solid 1- maybe 2 min then it finally leaves the apple screen and my desktop appears!

Any help would be great!!

people have discussed your problem in those two topics and some.. but anyway, what method did you use to update? most common problem with slow boot times for 10.5.2 would be that you did not update your kernel. if that is the case, your only solution/fix for that ATM would be to update the kernel to 9.2.0

edit: and about the wireless.. check under networking in the system prefs pane and your wireless card should be listed. if it's not try adding it by using the plus button on the bottom of the list on the left side.. if you cant add your wireless card, then your card is not supported by default.. you would then have to look for drivers for your card.. see if you can log into windows and use device manager to get both the device ID, model ID, and chipset.. once you have those, search the forums using the info you got before posting.. you'll be able to find the solution to it.. if not, then ask..

edit 2: sorry if i sound a little harsh.. just woke up

Hey

No worries at all, I used the Kalyway 10.5.2 update from the Pirate, I have used the search but apparently I wasn't putting in the correct words/phrase to find what I needed, I was lookin to do this kernel update but couldn't seem where to find the actual kernel to do the update, so I was thinking towards the direction just a matter of finding the file.

As for the wirless I will give that ago as well, see if that works, I always get disconnect issues with my ps3 on vista/xp so hoping os x has a decent server of sorts to share video/sound/photo's without losing my connection!

Thanks again much appreciated :D
