Hello everyone. First, just want to say thank you to everyone who contributes to these forums. This place has been such a help in getting my homebrew OSx86 going. Just thought I'd post what I've done for those who have an Asus Commando motherboard.

1. Installed Kalyway 10.5.1 dvd by using external USB dvd drive and PATA HD - worked

2. Installed KalywayIntelCombo10.5.2 - worked (only ran installer that came with it...not sure if there was anything else I was supposed to do).

3. Ran update and downloaded the Apple Graphics Update - worked.

4. Installed NVInstallerV.33.pkg, and 8800 GTS 512 now works.

5. Insatlled AzaliaAudio package and now sound works (just stereo).

I am having the following problems though:

1. Boot up is slow. I know a lot of people are having problems with this but the solutions I've found so far are a bit over my head. Can anyone please explain in a simple way?

2. I have OSX installed on a PATA drive, and then 3 SATA drives in the machine. Only 2 of the SATA drives get detected by OSX. Any ideas? The Commando board uses the Intel p965/ICH8R chipset.

3. Lastly, this is low on my priority list, but has anyone figured out how to get the 5.1 sound working with the SupremeFX audio card (uses the ADI 1988B codec).

Thanks so much everyone for any help and/or suggestions. Take care.

not sure about 1 & 3 but for 2, what format are all of those 3 SATA HDDs?

if they are all the same, you might want to ensure that they were formatted by the same applications as some can treat certain filesystems differently. also, can you see all 3 in windows? Also, try in Disk Uility in Mac OS X
