Kiopo
Hey all, Firstly just want to say that I've found these forums SO useful the past few weeks, I thought i'd have an experiment with an old Compaq Evo N610c laptop and I managed to get Max OSX running perfectly on it - very impressed. I just have a quick question that hopefully someone can help with. I'm getting a new Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop soon, and I'd like to be able to dual boot OSX with Vista. Assuming this works, all I want it for is for using Logic 7 or 8 for some uni work. I have a USB 2 Tascam US-122L audio interface, and I managed to get it working on my Evo N610c laptop to a degree, but had some really weird problems with it. Cubase LE wouldn't work at all - came up with an audio engine problem, and Reason 4 worked but it was painfully slow.. even with 300+ ms of buffer latency it would conk out sometimes. I was surprised because everything else seemed to work, and I did get the right Mac drivers for it and install it all how it said... Does anyone know if I'm likely to run into the same problems again (the Evo laptop was only SSE2, and USB1)? Is it worth bothering? Thanks!
