zan5hin
Hi, I just installed the 10.5.2 update and all was good, then I got a little too confident and installed the graphics update "LeopardGraphicsUpdate1.0.dmg" and now under display resolutions I only have 1024x768. Before I had smaller resolutions available and was running 1600x1200. So can someone help me either fix the issue or explain how I can uninstall the graphics update to go back to how it was? I'm running it on a Dell GX620 desktop with Intel(?) board, Pentium 4 and onboard graphics. Probably a 945G. I'm a windows guru but an absolute mac newbie so I need some help with this. wolfvilleian
Same issue here, I'm new to macs too, I've tried copying the old Display folder of configs and pastting it over, and repairing permisions, no such luck, I've also noticed a missing "Detect Displays" option, makes me think it's something built into the patch that we can't fix..shame because it fixed my top left hand box problem. Anyone figure this out yet? elviejo
Before both of you have the Tiger driver of 945G, this driver give you the resolutions but with artifacts, with the vanilla driver (Leopard original) you don't have artifacts, but loose the resolutions change; you have two options, reinstall all the 945G kexts from Tiger, including AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer and live with the artifacts, or edit the com.apple.Boot.plist with the resolution you want to use (must be one your display could handle) and add this string after the mach_kernel string ( remember to change the values to the ones you want and your display support): <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1280x1024x32@75</string Good luck.
