Good US Retail Stores for PC Parts

I'm coming to NYC this Easter for four days, and whilst I am there, I want to do some PC shopping :)

Seeing as I am there for just four days, I won't be able to order off newegg.

What I need is a good retail store that will give me a good price and selection of graphics cards.

Most specifically, that lovely new Saphire Radeon HD 3870 that is single slot.

So, any good suggestions, let me know - I can't wait to go to NYC, it's going to be great

Living in New York, I find that shopping for tech things here really isn't the best idea; unless you are an audiophile or videophile. You aren't getting the latest of anything special and prices are always a bit higher than the rest of the country (the stores have to pay for the higher rent we have somehow). My opinion, if you insist on going to a PC store, the best I've come across is DataVision on 5th Ave; after that we have all the same {censored} one gets in the rest of the country: bestbuy, circut city, a bankrupt compusa going out of business. As for Mac supplies people here love the Tekserve store on 23rd Street which has a huge amount of Mac compatible accessories. Now that you know that, I would skip buying computer stuff and just check out the Apple stores, they all have an interesting design and are in different parts of the city (unless you are here for work, it really is the city you want to see not go shopping for PC parts). Have a blast the City is awesome!

Yes they do. you can check them out online at http://www.datavis.com.

I totally forgot about J&R. It is on Park Row across from City Hall and should have large selection and decent prices. It's a fun grouping of stores to run through as well. You can check them out online at http://www.jr.com.

Additionally, you can have packages delivered to a hotel; just call the hotel concierge to see what their policy is on receiving packages for guests. If it is not a problem, place the order in advance of your arrival and when you get there, BAM! the parts you ordered.

Good luck.

Ah, finally found it :( - the site was a little confusing to navigate.

The J&R store looks promising. They seem to have fairly competitive prices on the 8800GT, but it still seems that Best Buy is cheaper for the HD 3870.

I'll have to see how much money I have when we get there - thanks for the help :)
