LJF3
Hey Guys, There are a lot of posts about this error but none of them are an easy fix for me. I am running a Dell E1405 laptop with iATKOS 1.0i R2 Leopard Install. I enabled the cpus=1 -v fix for the stuttering and everything was working great. I then installed all the new Apple Updates including the OSX update. Now when I boot in verbose mode I get a reptitive "Package 0 didn't get an HPET". I am new to all of this and searches have led me to - Delete or rename AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext in /System/Library/Extensions - Delete Extensions.mkext - reboot I do not know how to go about deleting these files without logging into the OS. Please help!!! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87329-hpet-error-after-apple-update-newbie-help/ Share on other sites
TridragoN
You may have to do these things in another Mac OS X(e.g. Boot from Installation Disc and use the terminal), or a Windows with MacDrive installed. LJF3
Thanks for the input; I am working on it now and will post how it goes.Do we know the cause of this error after an update? Also, do we know what deleting these files actually does? Thanks for the help and Patience! Update: I accessed Terminal within my iATKOS install CD. I can not find the directories or the files that are specified in the fix. I even used the "find AppleIntelCPUManagement.kext" file with no success. Please Help! thefinalprophecy
it's AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext. You had "Power" missing. You can boot to the leopard dvd, open terminal, and run cd /Volumes/Leopard/System/Library/Extensions/ and then rm -r AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext and it should work.
