lionskin
Hello all, i am having a problem with my keyboard lights on my mac book pro running leopard. After i selected "illuminate keyboard in low light conditions", my keyboard light can't be turned on, everytime i press F8, F9, or F10, it shows the brightness pop up but has a circle with a line throught it, any clue on how to fix this problem ? I have only had this mbp for little less than a month now. Any advise is greatly appreciated Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87248-mac-bok-pro-keyboard-light/ Share on other sites
sticky_bit
You must be in a low light (dark) environment for these controls to function. There are sensors behind the speaker grills that detect low-light conditions and enable this function. Chest12
What you can do to test is place your hands over the speakers of your laptop making the computer think that you have a low light intensity. Works for me. Sometimes annoys me tho when i rest my hand on the speaker as i have a medical condition preventing me from typing for long periods. lionskin
Thanks guys. I did what you suggested chest12 (covering the light sensors), and i was able to brighten them with the F10 key, all back to normal now. Funny how i had to do this to get them to come back on again.
